European stocks mixed, London tops 6,000 (AFP)

LONDON (AFP) ? European stock markets moved in mixed directions on Friday, with the London FTSE 100 index of leading shares ending above the 6,000 level for the first time since June 2008.

The FTSE rose 0.21 percent to 6,008.92 points on a short Christmas Eve trading day.

In Paris, the CAC 40 slipped 0.28 percent to 3,900.39 points.

There was no trading in Friday in Frankfurt, where on Thursday the DAX slipped 0.15 percent to 7,057.69 points.
