Siemens to invest Rs 200 cr to set up two manu units in Goa

?Siemens will invest Rs 200 crore in Goa over the next few years to set up two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities,? the company said in a statement here.

This expansion is part of the overall growth agenda of Siemens in the country wherein the company will invest Rs 1,600 crore in India over the next few years, it said.

Together, these factories would provide direct employment to around 200 people and indirect employment to over 500 people.

With this, Siemens also plans to make Goa a hub for energy automation products that will cater to the domestic and emerging markets.

?So far Siemens has witnessed favourable business environment in Goa. The new factories are part of our strategy to develop base level products for the bottom of the pyramid market in India. With these factories, we will strengthen our local portfolio to cater to the growing domestic demand,? Armin Bruck, Managing Director, Siemens and CEO - South Asia Cluster said.

This will be the first such factory outside Europe and third in the Siemens World , after Germany and United Kingdom and will be equipped with world-class technology.
